Welcome to NovaNET!
You are about to become a member of the NovaNET® community of learners. Thousands
of students just like you use NovaNET every day to help them reach their individual
goals. On the following pages, you will learn how to download and install your
NovaNET software on a Windows workstation. (If you are installing NovaNET on
a Mac OS X workstation, you will need the Mac OS X version of this guide.)

Be sure to do the following tasks before installing the software:
- Know your operating system - You
will need to know which version of the Windows Operating System you are running
on your computer. Write that information down.
- Turn off your virus protection and any other software you have running before
installing the NovaNET software. Common virus programs include Norton Anti-Virus,
McAfee, AVG, etc. Follow each direction carefully and you will have no problem
installing your software. If you encounter a problem, contact your school coordinator

Preparation
- Close all open programs, including antivirus and security applications.
- Use a web browser (such as Internet Explorer) to open the Pearson product
support website at:
http://Support.PearsonSchool.com.
- In the middle column, titled Browse by Category, click once on <Product
Support>.
- Click once on <NovaNET> and once on <Downloads>.
- In the table titled Section Categories, click once on <Windows>.
- Use the right hand scroll bar on your browser to scroll down beneath the
Section Categories table to a table titled Windows. Select one of the software
packages.
To Install NovaNET Software:
- Click on the download symbol to the right of Multimedia Courseware Installer
to begin the download process. The File Download window appears. You will be
asked to save the installer program to your hard drive or run it from the website.
Choose Run and click <OK>. NOTE: A web browser security warning may be displayed. Click <Yes> or <Run>.
- On the Welcome screen, click <Next>.
- On the Select Installation Type screen, select NovaNET standalone workstation,
and click <Next>.
- On the Choose Destination Location screen, click <Next> to use the
default location.
- On the Choose Connection Type screen, select Network connection. Click <Next>.
- On the Network Connection Settings screen, enter the host address and
port number given to you by your school and located at the top of of this guide.
Click <Next>.
- On the Setup Type screen, select Typical if you would like the entire
library of multimedia lessons installed on your workstation. This selection is
recommended. Click <Next> and continue to step 8.
- On the Print Option screen, select Yes to enable or No to disable printing
from multimedia lessons. For example, if you want to be able to print NovaNET
lesson screens for reference or to hand in to your instructor, select Yes and
click <Next>. NOTE: If a QuickTime information window appears, read the information and click <OK>.
- On the Ready to Install screen, click <Install> to complete the installation. The installation will take several minutes to complete. If you are installing from a CD, you will be asked to remove disc 1 from the CD drive and replace it with disc 2. Click <OK> to continue. If a Windows Explorer pop-up appears, close it by clicking <X> in
the upper right corner.
- When the installation is finished, the Installation Completed screen
appears. You must restart your workstation for the NovaNET software to operate
properly. Make sure that the Yes, I want to restart my computer now option is
selected, and click <Finish>.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed your NovaNET software. You
can now access the lessons by double-clicking on the NovaNET icon on your workstation's
desktop screen. Good luck with your studies!
